Green Management

Green management refers to the effective and efficient use of all material and human resources to guide and control an organization towards achieving environmental goals through organization and planning. Organizations utilize green management concepts and indicators to achieve a green state, one of which is optimal energy consumption.

Concept and Definition

Green management is an academic concept. In this regard, many research and scientific works have been carried out to explain this new management concept. Although there are still concerns about the implementation of this type of management, it has also had good results.

Green management can be divided into three parts: green building, green energy, and green waste. In fact, green management is a kind of rethinking in the work of various institutions and organizations with respect to the environment.

Green Team

To achieve this goal, the first step is to establish a green team. This team consists of a green manager and members of the specialized green management workgroup. They are appointed in executive bodies, administrations, state-owned companies, governmental organizations, etc. These individuals are knowledgeable about basic environmental principles and aim to supervise savings, optimization, and reduction of daily consumption under the supervision of the highest executive authority of the organization.

  • Reforming the energy consumption pattern in buildings with proper supervision of building design, construction, and engineering
  • Increasing the efficiency of devices and better use of existing facilities
  • Compliance with the consumption pattern and optimization of fuel, water, electricity, energy, paper, raw materials, and equipment consumption in government agencies
  • Creating a suitable implementation mechanism for government agencies and non-governmental public institutions to reduce the consumption of materials and basic resources through savings
  • Training with culture-building and public participation
  • Increasing the income resources of the government and state-owned and non-governmental companies
  • Implementing modern management and environmental systems and tools (quality management system, environmental management system, occupational health and safety management system, energy management system, productivity management, national standard, etc.)
  • Establishing an environmental and green management information bank for information dissemination and exchange of information and use of experiences and innovation in the green management portal
  • Paying attention to time management and making optimal use of it
